Hi ladies,
I'm really curious how your labors "started." I know it can vary a lot, but I'm just curious . It's getting closer for me, so I'm very eager to hear!

Love,

Three!! Yes, three!! Days and two nights of contractions, so 110% unable to sleep. Not even for a second. But I was already at 3 cm. Then I got touched and labor started. By the way, those nights with contractions, I did have very light bloody mucus, but later it was really thick and caramel-like pieces that I lost. This has a name, but I forgot it hahhap

Anonymous, I think you mean the mucus plug? With the first one, it started with vaginal bleeding, and with the second one, it started with my water breaking.

For me, the contractions started in the middle of the night and came right every 2 minutes. Shortly after, my waters broke spontaneously.

I had mild menstrual-like cramps for one evening before labor and the evening of labor itself, but nothing regular.

Thanks ladies for the replies! What a difference. Every person is different, as you can see again.

I had my waters broken on Monday afternoon at 38+4 (they didn't do anything to induce it). I only had some contractions, but that was it. On the night from Monday to Tuesday, I lost my mucus plug (what a gigantic thing it was ). On Tuesday, I had a little bit of contractions during the day, but nothing notable. On Wednesday, I had an uncomfortable feeling, with some contractions and hardening bellies every so often (but I was used to those since I had quite a lot). On Wednesday night at 12:00, the contractions started (every 15-10 minutes), and by 6:00, I started to suspect they were real contractions instead of false ones (you really can't tell the difference with a first baby because you don't know what to feel for). By 10:00, they were coming every 1.5 minutes. I arrived at the hospital at 11:00 and gave birth at 15:15.

For me, both (1 vaginal birth, 1 C-section) started with broken waters. In the vaginal birth, it took about 4 hours for the contractions to start.

On Tuesday night at 9 PM, my waters broke. Wednesday afternoon at 4 PM, the contractions finally started. Three hours later, I was only 1 cm dilated. Thursday morning at 7 AM, I was fully dilated, but ended up having an emergency C-section, and at 11:09 AM, our son was finally born.

With my first, I lost some amniotic fluid on Saturday evening at 7 PM. The midwife came by and confirmed it. An hour later, the contractions started and kept coming every 5 to 6 minutes all night. My cervix dilated slowly, and while the contractions did something, they weren't ultimately strong enough to push. So I ended up going to the hospital where she was born at 11:13 PM with the help of a vacuum extractor.
