my belly button

Ladies, do you relate to this?

My belly button hasn't popped out yet (to put it that way), but it still hurts quite a bit, and there's occasional pain around it too. When I press on the skin around my navel, it's bearable, but I still feel some irritation. It's not red or swollen, but I'm wondering if this is normal?

    Hi hi,

Not everyone’s belly button will “pop.” I’m not sure where the pain is coming from. It could be tension on the navel due to your growing belly. But if you want to be sure what’s going on, it’s best to discuss this with your midwife or doctor.

    Good luck!

Hi Katie, my belly button has popped out too... but I do recognize that pain! When I rub around my belly button, it feels like a bruise, and sometimes it really hurts... I can feel my girl's legs sitting there very clearly, and since the weekend I've also had a blueish tint around my belly button... so it's quite possible that there's pressure and tension from your little one growing, as Anne already said. But if you want to be sure and you're worried, don't hesitate to ask your GP or doctor for advice—they'll definitely help you out!

    Love, Daphne

My belly button also didn't pop out. I literally don't have a belly button anymore! My stomach is just completely tight/flat, just like in my previous two pregnancies.
With my oldest, my belly button was also very sensitive, but that was just from the tension on it. Now, my belly button isn't really sensitive, just a bit red, because my belly button is/was almost the only place where I have stretch marks.
