Eli
Hey everyone!
I've had a pressing and painful feeling in my pelvis since week 34, especially in the morning when getting out of bed or when walking. At 35 weeks, I had a check-up with the midwife and she said the baby has started to drop.
At 37 weeks, I had another check-up and the doctor said the baby is still dropping and that my cervix is half effaced. After the check-up, I did lose some blood with quite a bit of mucus.
I'm now 38 weeks pregnant and I have even more pain when getting up and walking, as if I'm carrying a heavy weight between my legs. I'm also losing a lot more discharge than in the past few weeks.
Is the baby still dropping, or is it something else?
It's my first baby and I'm not sure how to react to all these ailments; I've had a very good pregnancy without too many issues, only since week 34 have the problems really started..

    Hi Eli,
I somewhat recognize the feeling, partly because my daughter was in a breech position. From week 29 I had symptoms until week 39. Really very painful and indeed, a heavy weight between your legs, that's how it feels. Eventually my daughter descended with her bottom down, so it can take a while. Now my situation is different.
Wishing you a pleasant pregnancy ahead!

With me, the little one was breech until 35 weeks. Then, when I was almost 36 weeks, she turned into head-down position and started to drop. I definitely had that pressing feeling you describe until 38 weeks. After that, she was born at 39 weeks.

So it doesn't have to be that she's still dropping, but that she has fully dropped. Then you feel that pressure too, because the baby is completely in your pelvis, and you definitely feel that.
