Giving birth to a baby with a "big head"

Hi! I'm 32 weeks pregnant and had an ultrasound today. He's completely healthy and everything is fine.
Only his head is a bit larger than average... So I'll have another ultrasound at 38 weeks to see if everything will fit properly or something like that. But should I worry or not? The hospital says no, but well, I worry anyway .
Are there any people here who have experience giving birth to a baby with a slightly larger head?

Greetings

You really shouldn't worry. They probably want to see exactly how the baby's head is positioned. Even babies with small heads can be positioned in a way that makes it difficult to fit through. Be glad they're checking how the little one is positioned now, rather than letting you struggle with it later, for example.

And yes, my two boys were big, with large heads and heavy (and I wear size 40-42 :-) and I'm 1.74m, so not exactly huge, I guess (though I'm slim). They weighed 4300g and 5100g respectively (not twins, haha), and also had large heads, but it went fine. Of course, your partner and others are a bit more concerned.

    It'll surely work out fine.

    Hi Noraa,

Don't worry... I went to the midwife today. I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant and the baby is measuring at 33 weeks. My reaction was... oops, she shouldn't grow that fast, she still has to come out! The midwife told me that it's not the baby's size that determines labor, but the baby's position. If the baby is in a good position, it'll all be fine (I'm not speaking from experience).

    So it'll definitely work out

    Best wishes & good luck!!!

    Hi,

Same here, had an ultrasound yesterday at 29 weeks and the head was bigger than average, but everything else was fine. How did it turn out for you?

    Best wishes!
