Hi, so relatable! I just had my money day too and am only 30 weeks according to what they told me. So I'm wondering if that's normal.

Hi ladies, here's another lady who can join this club, except for me they told me in the hospital that if you have more than 5 hard contractions per hour, it's really a sign that you should take it easy!
I can't/may not work anymore since today!

    Love,

Hi ladies. I know this is an old post.. but I'm really curious how it ended. I've been on bed rest for 4 weeks now. Had a CTG, ultrasound, everything was fine. My belly is constantly rock hard, like it's about to burst. I can't walk anymore. I now use a wheelchair just to get outside. According to the gynecologist, it's just bad luck with the pregnancy; some women experience this.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant, by the way. Who else has this?

I already had a lot of trouble with hard contractions at 23 weeks. They also came regularly. I wasn't allowed to work anymore because I was almost at the max for hard contractions per day, otherwise I'd have to go on tocolytics. I was prescribed bed rest, and if they kept coming, I had to go to the hospital.

    Hi!
    I'm 32 weeks pregnant.
It's an old thread, but I went to the hospital today because I was getting about six hard contractions an hour. On top of that, I had some vaginal twinges. I was on the monitor and everything looked fine. I did have three hard contractions in half an hour. As long as they don't hurt and I don't feel any pressure going down, I shouldn't panic but mainly rest, according to the midwife. Regarding the vaginal twinges, it could very well be that I have a bladder infection. I had to give a urine sample at the hospital and I'll know the result on Thursday. I hope it's not a bladder infection because I don't feel like taking medication during my pregnancy.

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and also getting regular hardening bellies. I'm on bed rest and need to take it easy, and they say that hard bellies can often occur in some pregnant women, but there shouldn't be 6 in an hour! Quite annoying.. I'll go for a shower or put a hot water bottle on my belly in the hope that it'll get better!!

Rest does wonders often. Tightening can also mean you're taking on too much.

At 33 weeks, you just can't do everything anymore. I'm 30 weeks pregnant myself. Fortunately, occasional tightening is normal.

Here too, all day long with hard contractions, and this weekend even strong preterm labor! Bed rest for me and tocolytics my cervix was already shortened.. next week another check-up and hope everything has stayed the same!
Glad I'm not the only one! I'm now 30 weeks along. And even with the tocolytics, I keep having a constantly hard belly

I'm now 29 weeks pregnant and have been on bed rest for almost 3 days. I've been way too busy in recent weeks and still worked full-time in healthcare... I had a hard contraction storm during my late shift that didn't seem to stop... I lay down and drove home after an hour. However, the hard contractions kept coming. Luckily no pain, that's my only bright spot, but they're not getting less.. On my side in bed it stays calm, but as soon as I sit, stand or walk they strike again immediately.. Went to the midwife yesterday and luckily my cervix is fine. I have mandatory 3 days of rest, but it doesn't seem to get much less.. I feel guilty that I didn't step back earlier.. If it comes too early, I don't know if I'll ever get rid of this guilt feeling..

So relatable here too. Since week 24, I've been getting hard contractions every 3 minutes. Now in week 26 and it hasn't stopped. At the hospital, they clearly see the hard contractions on the CTG, and the ultrasound shows that the cervix is reacting to them. For example, it goes from 3.5 to 2.2. I'm lying down constantly, but it's not going away. Does anyone else have the same experience, and did it happen to disappear for someone by chance?

Hi, I have this too, even now that I don't work or exercise at all.
I'm just at week 34 and have had really frequent hard contractions since about week 30. I'm holding back because I read that there shouldn't be too many. My contractions really don't go away after 1 minute. Because I was extremely sick (nauseous) for 5 months early in the pregnancy, I had already stopped working and exercising then. Currently I sleep a lot (usually from 00:00 to 11:00, and I lie on the couch a lot in between or I sit behind my laptop doing some things. I'm definitely not 'busy' or stressed, so that's not the cause. If I take a walk I get a hard contraction anyway, so I'm not doing that anymore, only short distances.
Yesterday I was referred to the hospital just in case, they listened to the baby's heartbeat, measured contractions, checked for any dilation, urinary tract infection, placenta. Nothing was wrong... So I've just accepted that I just have a lot of hard contractions, everyone is different I guess. Just to be safe I'm really taking it easy for two weeks, I'd like her to stay in there until at least week 36 I'm not going to sit in a cafe anymore and I lie on the couch a lot. From week 36-37 I would dare/want to do a bit more again, if she's born then it's less serious.
My hard contractions today; 2 at night, 2 morning (until 12:00), 1 around 15:00, 1 around 17:00, just now from 20:10 to 21:00.
