Placenta previa

Hi everyone!
I'm now 34 weeks pregnant and have a placenta previa. The placenta is partially covering the "exit". According to my OB-GYN, it won't move anymore, so it'll be a C-section. I haven't had any bleeding so far, but my doctor says the risk increases every day. Does anyone here have experience with this? Does anyone know in which week the risk of bleeding is highest? The baby already weighs 2.8kg, so if he were born earlier, we'd be in good shape. Greetings, Barbara!

    Hi,

I’ve got the story. At 19 weeks, I had heavy bleeding and a clot near the placenta. I bled for 2 weeks. In the end, I passed the clot from the placenta, and soon after, the bleeding decreased and turned into brown discharge. That also lasted only a few days.

At 22 weeks, I had a check-up at the hospital, and by then, my placenta was already 2 cm away from the opening. So, it hasn’t caused any more bleeding up until today.

Tip if you get bleeding: don’t panic! It can be very intense. The best thing is to lie down as much as possible. Lots of movement (bending, walking) can stimulate bleeding.

Hi, we found out at 20 weeks that my placenta and umbilical cord are lying in front of the exit. I was told that the chance of me bleeding starts from week 25. I'll probably be admitted then too.
