32 weeks - sleeping pain in the belly - ligament pain - stomach cramps

Ladies, I'm curious if you recognize this.
I'm 32 weeks pregnant and really starting to have trouble sleeping at night. My belly "doesn't want to sleep," it seems. But even when I turn over, it hurts in my lower back (but really the muscles) – band pain or something. It feels like I've had an "accident" and my whole belly and lower back are full of bruises. I really do yell "AU" at night. I'm also starting to get some stomach/round ligament cramps... is all this normal?

    Hey Katie,
    Yeah, it's all part of the package. I'm at 31 weeks myself, had to stay home for 2 weeks because I could barely walk due to the pain. Luckily, it got better by resting. Probably had to do with the baby turning. I sleep with 3 pillows for the heartburn, have to get up every 1.5 hours to pee, have muscle pain everywhere... So yeah, unfortunately, it's all part of the deal. Just hang in there a bit longer. The end is in sight.
    The cramps could be because you're getting less space and your baby is pressing on your stomach or intestines. For example, you might suddenly get pain in your ribs (I had that too).

    @Katie,

    Yeah, same here, awake every hour and already showering around 6 am. I also have cramps and stuff.

    I'm sorry, but I have to join in here too!
    What helps me is to rub the painful spots with horse cream.

    It relieves the pain!

    Hi Katie,
    I'm 28 weeks pregnant this week and I can totally relate.
    I often wake up at night because I can't get comfortable, and when I turn over, I almost always have lower back pain.
    So you're definitely not alone!

    I'm joining the club too... I really want to sleep well again... It's like my body doesn't need any sleep at all!
    Good luck to everyone.....

    Definitely part of it. Are you already using pillows or a nursing pillow? That helped me a lot—pillow between your knees, under your belly, and between your arms/elbows. Turning over feels like a whole house move, but you sleep much better. Good luck!

    Yeah, same here... I'm 32 weeks now but the sleeplessness is getting worse every week, so no sleeping... waking up every 3 hours to pee and, indeed, turning over because my whole side feels sore and bruised (about every hour) means another big move to the other side. Because around my belly it's really not comfortable. I also get short of breath from it. My husband is getting a bit crazy from me, so now we each have our own blanket. Great! Sleeping 10 times better!
    Good luck ladies. Glad to hear that you're not alone

    30 weeks, same here. So it's normal. My body doesn't want to sleep either.

    @nikki,

    In the end, it'll all work out

    Same here. Everything hurts. And I'm dealing with fluid retention. The baby has already dropped down. I'm exhausted and can't sleep, and it's hard to really rest with the housework and things that still need to be done.
