I should've just asked our neighbors to watch them and have the ex come pick them up as soon as possible. Then, for two weeks, no stepkids on me—nice and relaxed. But they're always welcome to come by; they're part of the family, and you really shouldn't forget that. It's always an option. If you already have kids, you should think about what you'd do in that situation...

I'm now 37 weeks pregnant, and my first baby will be born via C-section. We have co-parenting. I've asked if I could have the first 10 days for myself and the baby, and of course for my recovery. My man has a hard time with this, but he does understand. This can be very self-centered, but I don't know what motherhood entails. So I want to experience it in my own way and at my own pace without having to take others into account. I don't need to pick her up, make food, etc. Of course, she can come every day. Her mother has simply said okay. Otherwise, I would have had to make other plans.
