When is the baby room ready?

Hi! I read that at 27 weeks a baby already has a good chance of survival, so I'm thinking I should have all the baby stuff and the nursery fully ready by around that time, just to be safe. My parents say that's really not necessary and think it's a bit unnecessary. What do you all think? When do you want everything ready and complete?

Anyway, just do what feels right for you. If you still want to do some DIY yourself, it's usually easiest in the 2nd trimester, when you generally feel your best. I think I had everything at home, but I only started washing my maternity leave clothes and really getting things ready at 34 weeks. Now the babies aren't coming any later than 37 weeks, so I think I want to have everything more or less in order around 27 weeks, but not set up the crib yet (it's coming into our room, and that takes up so much space).

Try to think practically, but also do what you feel like doing. Do you feel like having everything done by 24 weeks? That's fine, right? My mom wasn't really into getting things ready quickly at first either, and at 34 weeks she was the one who started stressing haha

Enjoy the preparations! And if it doesn't work out, that can unfortunately also happen at 39 weeks, and then you'll have everything at home anyway... It'll find its place, or maybe for a next baby, second-hand store, Marktplaats, or charity. Follow your gut!
