Itchy breasts/nipples..

Hey!
I have a question. I'm now 28 weeks pregnant, and for a few weeks now, I've had very itchy breasts/nipples, especially on the left side. My left nipple is completely open now. It seems to get better sometimes, but then it starts itching and scratching again (especially at night), and I end up reopening it. They also sometimes leak a little bit—not much, just a small amount. Could that be related?
I went to the doctor last week for a check-up, but I forgot to ask about it again (my memory isn't really helping me). So I thought I'd ask here—maybe someone knows what I can do about it?

Hey there,
It could be a fungal infection due to your lower immunity during pregnancy. It's completely harmless, but if your baby starts breastfeeding, they might get a mouth infection (thrush), so it's best to have it checked out. -

Probably a fungal infection, I had it too. You can get a tube of cream for it at the pharmacy, and it should be gone in a few days. But make sure to keep applying it for a while after that, otherwise there's a chance it'll come back.
