Breech birth

Hi!
Are there any moms here who have experience with external cephalic version (ECV) for a breech baby?
How did you find the experience, and did it work out?
If not, did you end up choosing a C-section or a breech birth? How was your experience?
Greetings!

Aah, so nice that there's still someone around! I'm 37 weeks pregnant today and on Monday they're going to try to turn the little one. I find this super exciting!

Me too on Monday! Super exciting.. I'm also almost 37 weeks. What are you going to do, d? If the baby turns back or if it doesn't work out?

I'm really leaning towards a C-section. A breech delivery seems so painful to me. But a C-section also has quite a few downsides. Your recovery takes much longer... the obstetrician wanted to wait until after the turning procedure to talk about it. What will you do if it doesn't work out? Do you find it just as nerve-wracking?

I'm just following along. My baby has been in breech for a few weeks now, and I'm 35 weeks pregnant. I'm having a position ultrasound at the end of this week, and then I'll make an appointment with the midwife/OBGYN for an external cephalic version. But I'm really dreading it... Have you guys tried that before?

    Hi!
Well, I had prepared myself for the worst. But the baby had already turned on its own, so we could go home again. How did it go for you, dear?

Hi! Today they tried to turn the little one. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. They're going to try again on Thursday.

That's great, Maxy! One less worry..
And sorry to hear that, D. Was there a reason it didn't work out? Placenta, umbilical cord, or something like that?

I also found out this afternoon that the chance of my baby turning on its own is very slim. Because he/she has been in the same position for weeks now (luckily still moving well). It could just be that he/she feels comfortable in this position, and trying to turn him/her with force isn't a good idea. I'm really torn. My gut says don't do it. But maybe it's also fear of the unknown.. Curious to hear others' experiences.

Have you given birth by now? How does a second attempt feel, and which week did they schedule the C-section when it didn't work out?

Hi! I'm overdue today. The baby had naturally turned head-down again. I was already 38/39 weeks at the time. Apparently there's enough room as a third child. So, luckily, no interventions or turning attempts for me.

Oh, that's great!! Then it can just be natural. I did hear that it does make a difference... which child it is.

Hi! My little one is almost 2 now. They were also in a breech position, and I tried turning them with both legs up, but it didn’t work. I didn’t really feel comfortable doing it, and it wasn’t successful anyway—maybe I was too tense But they were born via C-section anyway. Now we’re trying for a second baby together. I already have a 12-year-old son, and that went much more easily Good luck to everyone!
