How many weeks pregnant were you when you gave birth?

I'm really curious if it's common to go overdue, or if babies often show up on their own earlier? Please share how many weeks and days you gave birth at. I'm so curious. And how did you notice it was coming early? Love, kleinewonder

    Hi hi!

That's quite different, but generally it's still around 39 weeks, okay. Just on time

I was at 36 weeks with my daughter, and my son was born last March at 33 weeks. He spent a month on the NICU.
Both times, nothing was found that would explain why they came early.
Except that with my son, I did have a bladder infection, which can cause premature contractions.
With the first one, I suddenly lost amniotic fluid; I actually thought I was peeing in the room... Not so haha.
With the son, I had mild contractions and probably also a slight loss of amniotic fluid.
    They are both healthy, btw
Good luck, it will all go well!

Thank you for your answer, Skyline.
    Glad they're both healthy. Love,

    Hi girl,

Going overdue is definitely possible... I myself gave birth at 41+6. I was supposed to be induced that day, but my little boy announced himself in the middle of the night. I had two membrane sweeps before that, which apparently didn't do much In the end, after another hour and a half of pushing, my little boy was delivered via C-section with a vacuum extractor... yeah, he really didn't want to come out

Unfortunately, the little miracle decides for itself when it arrives hihi

Not yet delivered myself, but my sister-in-law was a few days overdue for her first (induced due to breech position, so C-section), and for the second one, she was a week early.

    Hi,
I gave birth at 38 weeks and 2 days. I started having contractions at 32 weeks. I took medication to stop the contractions until 36 weeks, and then at 38 weeks and 2 days my water broke. Not a lot, but I stood up and everything was soaked. The midwife at the hospital was also completely surprised. In the end, I spent 19 hours with oxytocin to induce labor. Pushing went super fast, 2 times, and she was here.
    Good luck!

Thanks for your story, sisi and isa
@isa.. How do you know what a contraction is? I have a lot of painful hard bellies and I went to the zh for a check-up today as well. But she did say I had a lot of hard bellies and stuff, but she didn't think it sounded like contractions. I sometimes doubt it because just like now I get such a hard belly that hurts so much with a lot of cramps.. and I'm now 34+2

Delivered at 39+4. Nice and on time then.
But my midwife said most first babies come a bit later.
I’ve had strong engagement contractions for 3 weeks already.

Delivered at 38+6. I was induced due to high blood pressure. It happens when it happens, no matter how much you want it to. And once it's time, it's suddenly fast!

37.5 with 37.3 already started with small amounts of amniotic fluid loss. Good luck with the final stretch and wishing you a smooth delivery :-)

    Baby 1
39+4 started with ruptured membranes, followed immediately by contractions
    Baby 2
39+5 started with a whole day of false labor, which turned into real contractions in the evening

Wonderbaby, do you even believe it yourself? Born at 22 weeks pfffff and then looking like the baby on your profile?
Try a bit harder if you're making up a story. Make sure it at least makes sense... Go find a life or something.

@kleinewonder I had really early on with hard contractions. A real contraction hurts a lot. Then you don't really know how to sit or stand because everything hurts and feels uncomfortable. You feel a certain pressure downwards, at least that's how it felt for me. If there's a monitor attached, it doesn't always match, though. I also often had that thing indicate a contraction when there wasn't one, or vice versa, but they say that too. Everyone is different because a friend of mine didn't find it that painful while I kept fainting during labor. At 34 weeks, you can have practice contractions. How are you doing now?
