Evolutionary stripes

After not seeing anything on my belly for a long time, two weeks ago they appeared despite all the rubbing: stretch marks on the lower part of my belly and a small one around my navel. I'm now 32 weeks.
It's not too bad yet, not that big.
But now my question (to the experienced moms) is how did your stretch marks evolve if you had them?
I'm afraid that since my belly still has to grow so much, they'll become super big... do they grow/tear along with it anyway? Or is there a chance they'll stay 'modest'?

    Hi,

In the last two months, your belly grows the fastest and there's not much you can really do about it. But I would still keep moisturizing your skin (with natural oil) to keep it supple. It does fade a bit after your pregnancy, but you'll always see a little bit of it. Look on the bright side, they're your earned tiger stripes! I'm not really bothered by them at all. Mine are mostly on the sides of my belly, but some people have it extremely, and then it's a bit different. But don't worry too much about it, it won't help anyway!

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I’m still applying it now, even though they’re already there, the more I apply, the more it helps with the itching. I don’t really have a problem with how they are now. I’m just hoping my belly doesn’t suddenly become overly huge, that would be a shame. But like you said, I’m trying not to dwell on it too much since there’s nothing I can do anyway, right? Just hoping for the best, haha.

You don't necessarily have to get stretch marks during or after your pregnancy. I gave birth to our third little girl, and I don't have any stretch marks, cellulite, or loose fat. Nothing like that. So don't worry, it's not always the case that every woman has it. Enjoy your pregnancy And good luck with your baby later on.

It's true that not all women get stretch marks as a standard thing; it has to do with your skin structure. I'm currently pregnant with my second little one, and I was completely covered in them after my first (despite all the smearing), and now I've got a few more haha I don't really have much trouble with them myself and I do see it as "I've earned my stripes"
