Last few weeks have been really tough.

Good morning,

Just need to vent a bit. I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and have had a pregnancy with lots of complaints and uncertainty. Still have a tough delivery ahead with the usual risks due to medical issues.
But the last few weeks have been incredibly tough, my blood pressure has been high for a while now and I'm dealing with a bladder infection. But what I find most awful is that I have such a short fuse. My husband and our pets have to suffer for it, getting angry so quickly, being irritable and crying. Whenever I've been angry, I always feel regret and then feel bad about that again. (Normally I'm really the picture of calm) The midwife says I must stay absolutely calm but I find this difficult. My husband also finds it heavy, I can tell from him and sometimes it's a bit of a flare-up.
I also have huge fear about the delivery and whether everything will be okay with the baby. (This is known to family and midwife)
Who can relate to this and how do you deal with it?

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's great that you've already got so many weeks behind you and can soon start cuddling your baby.
It's not strange to feel irritable in the final part of your pregnancy, especially not in your case. Most women dread childbirth, but it seems like yours comes with even more risk. How exciting!

Are there things you still enjoy doing now? Taking a nice bath, letting off steam with a friend over a good cup of tea at Starbucks? I hope you can find little moments of enjoyment to lean on, so that not only you but also the people around you can look forward to the miracle that surely won't be long in coming.

Wishing you lots of success, strength, and hopefully soon enjoying the new life in your arms! x
