Big baby

Dear ladies,

I'm currently 40+4 weeks pregnant.

Baby has always been 3-4 weeks ahead in growth.

He's already lying very low, so according to the OB-GYN, he could definitely pass.

What do you think about this theory? I'm afraid the baby will be too big..

If he's too big, they'll probably still decide to do a C-section in the end.

    Hi,
I get what you mean. They also told me I'd have a big baby, and that made me nervous about the birth. But especially if the baby is low down, everything will go well. Your body is made for this and will be ready when your baby is!
Try to have faith, especially in yourself. And there are always experts around if it doesn't work out
Good luck with the birth, and enjoy your baby soon!

My son was also big and quite large for his gestational age. Birth weight was 4330 grams at 39 weeks.
I had to give birth in the hospital because of his abdominal size, but the midwife and gynecologist weren't worried about the actual delivery. I was worried myself, but it turned out to be unnecessary. I did get an episiotomy, but that was it.

It definitely won't go longer than 40 weeks because in the last few weeks they only gain weight, and all that extra weight can indeed have a negative effect—I know from experience... But it doesn't have to be that way... No one can guarantee how things will go.
    Good luck and trust yourself!

My kids were 4480 at 40+1 and 4525 at 38 weeks, so I'm glad I got a C-section with my second at 38 weeks; otherwise, he would have been over 5 kilos.

I'm curious; how big was your baby in the end, and did everything go well with the birth?
