Good afternoon ladies,

I am 39 weeks pregnant today.

Yesterday I lost the mucus plug.

Could it still take a while? I am SO impatient!!!

Any experiences?

Greetings,
Evi

A mucus plug doesn't mean anything unfortunately

Hopefully it won't be long anymore!

Oh no, you don't mean it!

I heard from a friend that it usually takes another 2 days...

Some people lose their mucus plug up to 2 weeks before labor starts, so it doesn't really tell you much.

I hope it starts soon for you. Unfortunately, I lost him early last time. And had to wait another two weeks.

I lost him the night before the contractions started...

Now at 34 weeks and lost the mucus plug a week ago, I think this doesn't mean much.

I only lost it during my first pregnancy.
Right around New Year's Eve, and on January 31st my labor started.
During my second and third pregnancies, I didn't lose a mucus plug.
I had also heard somewhere that it happens 2 weeks later.
But apparently, that's not always the case.

Every body is different, what doesn't mean anything for one person might mean something for another. I'm 39+6 and lost my mucus plug yesterday evening. I informed my midwife, and she said it could indeed mean something and that it could start any moment. It also depends on how far along you are, of course. Just listen to your own body; for some it's a sign, for others it's not.
