Mijky
Hi everyone!

I'm in my 35th week now and just realized I ate salami, which I'm not supposed to have at all! Could this be harmful??

Hi Mijky, salami can't hurt you. You're allowed to eat it.

Oh, I thought I had to follow all the rules during my pregnancy and that I wasn't allowed to have it.

Haha, you can't have raw beef or filet americain. And still, the chance that something goes wrong is minimal, really. But you obviously don't want to take that risk.

Sslami is not on my list either. It's on my blocked list on VK.

Salami is indeed not allowed either.. Unfortunately, I can't resist here either I eat it once every time the pack is just opened and then it's exciting to wait for the next pack

Haha, I never knew about that despite having three healthy kids. And all while I was always so good .

You're not allowed to eat salami during pregnancy? Oh, I didn't know that either... With my first pregnancy, I just occasionally had a little toast with American-style cold cuts and Brie...
  8. flipje #9

My first pregnancy, I could still eat it normally. Now I can't eat various types of sausages, including salami, for example. I think for the same reason as American-style deli meat.

Okay, I'm not really a fan of salami anyway, so I won't miss it haha..

By the way, did you know you're only allowed one cup of coffee/tea per day? Max one can of energy drink per day and max one glass of soda per day?
  10. princess #11

Yeah, no coffee I had 5 cups and stopped the very next day! Hahaha
  11. Mama van #12

Princess, I do drink coffee normally.
  12. princess #13

Ooh, I wouldn't be able to, honestly.. I've heard so many bad things about drinking coffee during pregnancy..
  13. Mama van #14

    Drinking tea is also bad...
  14. flipje #15

There's so much bad advice out there. I'm not talking about alcohol, smoking, or unhealthy meat, etc., but I think having a cup of coffee with friends isn't that bad. Obviously not liters. I've been drinking decaf for three years now and have gotten used to it. If I drink caffeine, I get spontaneous palpitations now. But make sure you do everything in moderation, and it's only nine months. You can survive that, right?
  15. Mama van #16

Flipje, you can drink caffeine-free coffee as much as you want.
Caffeine is also in tea, chocolate, cola, and Red Bull.

I don't drink alcohol either and I've been smoke-free for 1.5 weeks now.

Decaf coffee is indeed okay, but it gave me a weird feeling. I actually got sick from it. My body was craving caffeine, got none, and freaked out! Haha. I also don't drink alcohol, I don't like chocolate, and hardly eat candy at all. Just some letter cookies. I don't drink tea either, because of the theine. I never drank it anyway, and mostly I have fresh fruit juice and water on my menu. Purely because I got such a bad reaction to the acidity of soda and felt awful when I drank it.

I feel so bad that I can't have liver sausage or pâté right now! I love it on bread or a cracker I don't think I'll be able to have it even when I'm breastfeeding later. I do have 1 or 2 small cups of coffee or tea per day though.
  18. Sas #19

Liver sausage is okay..just the advice is not more than once a week because of too much vitamin A.

A lot of salami, and like parma ham and serano ham, are dried, raw, so you shouldn't eat them.
Just search a bit more and you'll find various types of salami that are smoked, which you can eat without any issues.
