I'm so nervous about the birth!
I'm afraid I'll be annoying to my husband and mothers during the labor or that I'll have a lot of pain,
I also find it frustrating that I don't know when it's going to happen hihi
I'm driving myself crazy

I just wanted to say that!
Good luck to all the pregnant women and women who want to become pregnant

Haha so relatable!! It’s all gonna be okay! And don’t forget, you’re allowed to be a bit grumpy. You’re the one giving birth. Good luck!!

Haha yeah, but I don't know if they can handle that haha, I can be quite a bitch
    How did your birth go?
  3. DeeDee012 #4

Haha, they can definitely hold their own at that point. They'll be too busy doing as much as they can for you... believe me!

Yeah, okay, a fast delivery, just under 5 hours. The last 50 minutes were intense. The moment you think you can't go on is usually when it's time to push. That's how it was this time too.

With my first, I was induced, and I was nervous about this time too. This was the first time I had to wait for labor to start. I can totally understand how you feel. From week 38 onwards, I was driving myself crazy

That's nice, a quick birth sounds great!
Are you still having a lot of pain from the birth? Or did you recover quickly?

Yes, being 38 weeks pregnant is a nightmare haha, you know you can give birth but you don't know when hahaha

I recovered pretty quickly. My tip: just give in to your tiredness in the first few days. Take it easy, let the postpartum care help take care of you, and let everyone else help too. After 8 days, you'll really have to do things yourself anyway, and it's nice to have rested enough to pick up the pace then.

Recovery really jumps forward—well, that's my experience. You get engorgement around days 3–5, and I had quite a bit of discomfort with that. But it's for a good cause, at least if you're going to breastfeed.

It's amazing how fast your body can recover, even if you're not quite yourself right away. I did have some stitches, but it wasn't too bad overall.

And yeah, a fast delivery is nice. Before you know it, it's over and your little one is in your arms.

Yeah, you're so ready to meet your cooling buddy, and the only thing you can do is wait! And that always feels like it takes forever!

Totally normal to find it stressful. Your husband and mom will surely understand if you're not in the mood to enjoy things for a bit.

My man also tried everything to take away the pain and I did say, "Pff, leave me alone," and when the contractions eased, we could talk a bit. He understood that I was in a lot of pain.

I had warned my man beforehand that I'd be in pain and might not be so nice and a 36-hour labor (induced) takes a lot out of you too.

Everything will be fine, in May we're expecting our second daughter.

By the way, I didn’t have any tearing or episiotomy, and by day 10 I was already back shopping.
I did bruise my perineum during labor, which was a bit tough for the first few days.

That’s a long labor, and it’s nice that your husband understood you. I’m curious how it’ll go for me hahaha
  9. boterbloempje16 #10

    It'll be fine, sweetie

She'll come out of it, haha. Mom always says there's never been one that got stuck in before, hahaha.
  11. Nancy Guest #12

haha of course it'll be fine. They'll surely understand and it'll all be forgotten again once your baby is here

I had a long labor because I was induced and didn't have any dilation or softening etc so I really had to start from scratch. This time I'm being induced again so I hope it'll go faster.
  12. DeeDee012 #13

Haha Jessie, my mom always says the same thing... and she's right, of course. But trust your own body and know that it can do it!! Enjoy those little girl in your belly for now!

Pff, 40 weeks today, it's taking so long!!!! So annoying hihi
  14. Nancy Guest #15

Yeah, it's a shame you don't know when you'll finally be able to hold her... Waiting feels so long. With every little pain, you think, "Is it starting now?"

She'll probably not keep you waiting much longer.
  15. Betty #16

Hang in there, going overdue can be tough! Hopefully, the little one arrives soon.
I’m trying to stay positive. On the farm, so many animals give birth so easily—so we should be able to do it too! Trust your body and hormones, and don’t hesitate to swear or cry if it helps!
    Wishing you all the best!
  16. DeeDee012 #17

Oh 40 weeks Jessie! How long waiting feels, huh! But before you know it, it all starts suddenly and you'll have your girl in your arms!

Bertha, it's going so fast for you too! Just a few more weeks.. how are you feeling?
  17. jessie95 started this #18

Had some stomach pain tonight but it didn't last. Couldn't sleep anymore, hihi. That'll be an afternoon nap later!
  18. Betty #19

Glad you can and are allowed to have an extra afternoon nap. Of course, you have to manage it! It didn't work here, but I slept pretty well last night, though I did have to keep my legs up for a bit!

I shouldn't complain, Deedee, yes, the little one is in the way. In my pelvis and with her bottom against my ribs, so I can't sit or bend too far forward. I do retain quite a bit of fluid, but with compression stockings, I still fit into some shoes.

I'm still doing quite a lot on the farm and around the house. I find it hard to rest, but my body is telling me to. How are you and little Deedee doing? Are you completely used to it yet?
  19. DeeDee012 #20

Take plenty of rest, okay. You'll need it for later. Easier said than done, though..

Things are going well here. I've been sick off and on for 3 weeks. Finally feeling better now and rebuilding my strength. A birth really takes a toll on your immunity and body.. The little one is already 5 weeks old and it's getting easier and more enjoyable. She's starting to smile and feeding is going better and better. In the beginning, it's all about figuring things out and feeling your way. But those who say you can just handle a second one so easily aren't entirely right. At least not during the first few weeks.

Ladies, enjoy your pregnancy while you still can. Soon you'll be enjoying your little ones, but it's so special!
