gestational diabetes

I just got a call from my OB-GYN saying I have gestational diabetes, and I have to go to Diet Center next Monday for a diet plan and follow-up Has anyone else had this experience? Does the diabetes go away after giving birth? I'm 29 weeks pregnant and up until now I've had a super pregnancy with no nausea... but now I'm really disappointed

If all goes well, the diabetes should go away right after pregnancy. They’ll keep a close eye on your baby, and you might need to stay after the birth so they can monitor the baby’s blood sugar levels. I’ve heard lots of good things about being guided by a naturopathic/orthomolecular doctor for gestational diabetes... it sometimes even goes away on its own. Might be worth looking into.
