scheduled c-section

Hey,

I'm due in December via a planned C-section, and now I'm facing a dilemma... Should I drive myself (taking everything with me, like baptism stuff, Maxi-Cosi, etc.), park underground, and then drive home with the baby after a few days, or should I just take a taxi to and from the hospital? I'm the only one with a driver's license and a car. Anyone here with experience?

I think you’re not allowed to drive yourself for the first 6 weeks after a C-section.
I’d definitely ask around if I were you.

    Hi hi!
That's correct, you're not allowed to drive a car on your own for the first 6 weeks. Plus, you're not insured during that time either, so don't do it, girl.

How strange. I gave birth twice via C-section and drove straight back home in the car. And that was allowed by the gynecologist.
It really depends on how you feel yourself.
I was standing on my own feet the next day. You should know that your abdominal muscles are cut and it takes a little while for them to come back.
I can't lift my legs when I'm lying on my stomach.

You don't have to be afraid of a C-section. You hardly feel anything.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask anytime? Xx
    Greetings

I've had a C-section twice already. The first time went well—I was even walking around the next day. The second one was rougher, but that was mostly because the epidural didn't work properly, leaving me completely numb in one leg for four days. Back then, though, I didn't have a driver's license or a car, and my ex was driving, so...

Now, my new boyfriend doesn't have a license, and I don't want to be dependent on others. I live just 10 minutes from the hospital by car, and I'm not sure whether I should take a taxi or drive myself. If I take a few painkillers beforehand... well, I'm going to drive to the hospital and see how I feel and what my body tells me afterward. If it doesn't work out, I'll just take a taxi and leave the car behind.

I gave birth to my daughter on December 4th via a planned C-section, and on December 9th I was allowed to go home. I drove myself there and also drove home. I didn't experience any problems, as I had feared. My feet and arms have nothing to do with my incision. Normally, I shouldn't drive for 6 weeks... but I drive every day... just sharing my story for people who might think it wouldn't be possible to drive.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter
Glad that everything went well in the end. Nice that everything is also okay with your stitches......
But you were the one who brought up driving, so you weren't so sure yourself that driving back would work. That's why you asked for advice.... We only responded to your topic.
